ARCC Committees
To assist it
in its work the ARCC has established five standing committees.
| Audit
Committee |
| An
audit committee has been established to assist the Council and
its Executive Officer fulfil their oversight responsibilities
of financial performance and reporting, audit, risk management,
information systems, accounting policies, and monitoring of
regulatory compliance. |
 |
| All
Season Committee |
|
Adaptation
to year round use of the alpine resorts for recreation and
tourism is a priority for the future. Maximising the use of
public and private infrastructure will provide an improved
return on investment. A diversity of experience for visitors
to the alpine resorts will ensure that the resorts have an
all season, vibrant and sustainable future.
The objective
of the All Season Committee is to communicate and facilitate
implementation of all season tourism at Alpine Resorts and
surrounding communities.
|
 |
| Co-operation
Committee |
| The ARCC
Cooperation Committee is made up of the CEOs and Chairpersons
of the Alpine Resorts. This Committee deals with issues of an
operational nature that affect all the resorts. In this way,
knowledge can be shared and efficiencies gained by working together
on a variety of projects. Projects have included amendments
to regulations, roads and access, water quality and cooperative
promotion. |
 |
| Research
Committee |
| In order
to encourage year round use of Victoria's alpine resorts, it
is important to understand who is visiting in both summer and
winter what they think of their experience. However, the research
needed is broader that just understanding market forces. Accommodation
needs, roads and updating knowledge of the economic significance
of the alpine resorts to Victoria and their regions is of upmost
importance. These are some of the issues addressed by the Research
Committee. |
 |
| Sustainability
and Benchmarking Committee |
|
The alpine
resorts must be managed in a sustainable mannner to ensure
their future viability and the preservation of the fragile
environment in which they sit. Triple bottom line outcomes
will ensure that the alpine resorts are environmentally, socially
and economically sustainable.
The objectives
of this committee are to foster leadership of the Alpine Resorts
in environmentally sustainable practises and environmental,
economic and social reporting and to embrace suitable international
benchmarking.
